MegaMan 2.5D is a fan based game based on the MegaMan series but given a twist. Our addition to the game adds a cooperative mode as well as a move into the third dimension at points in the game (hence 2.5D). The game is still under active development by myself and two other members.

The lectures of this course centered around design aspects for both virtual and physical games. We discussed the formal elements of a game, the difference between a game, play, toy, and puzzle, as well as the internal make-up of a virtual game (game engine). For this course, one of our assignments was to deconstruct a classic Atari game to remake. I decided to remake Asteroids, which can be found to the right. Other projects include a behavior game system and a path planning/hide and seek game.
This course is generally considered the capstone of the CGGT program and is typically taken after the game development course. For this course, we apply what we have learned about the structure of games and create a prototype of a digital game from our own design as a semester long group project.
I took this course as an undergrad at The Pennsylvania State University. The course itself taught the basics of computer graphics techniques and algorithms as well as a slight introduction of computer animations which this project was a part of.
